About SecureElder

A local guide for families in Naperville and DuPage County who are figuring out how to help an aging parent at home.

Who publishes this site

SecureElder is published by Matt Wolski of Naperville, Illinois.

SecureElder is not a home care agency, not a medical provider, and not a law firm. It does not provide care, medical advice, or legal advice. It provides general information and connects families with local providers.

Why the site exists

When a parent starts needing help, families are usually asked to make big decisions quickly: after a fall, after a hospital stay, or when it becomes clear that living alone is no longer as safe as it used to be. Adult children are often juggling jobs, their own families, and sometimes long distances. The information they need is spread across state websites, insurance documents, and agency sales calls, and much of it is written for professionals.

SecureElder tries to put the basics in one place, in plain language, for one specific area: Naperville and the surrounding communities in and near DuPage County. The goal is to help you understand your options, ask better questions, and feel less rushed.

What you will find here

How information is prepared

The guides on this site are written and maintained by the publisher using publicly available information, such as material from state agencies and federal programs, and general knowledge of how home care is arranged locally. Cost figures are presented as ranges for planning, not quotes, and readers are always asked to confirm current rates and rules directly with agencies and official sources.

SecureElder does not claim review by outside experts, nurses, attorneys, or other professionals. There are no testimonials, ratings, or reviews on the site. If you spot something that looks out of date or incorrect, that feedback is welcome, and the page will be corrected.

How requests are handled

When you request help, your request may be shared with one or more home care providers licensed in Illinois who can respond to it. SecureElder shares requests only with home care providers licensed in Illinois. Read the privacy policy for details on how information is handled.

A note on decisions

Every family and every parent is different. Use this site as a starting point. For medical questions, talk with your parent's doctor. For legal or financial questions, such as powers of attorney or paying for long-term care, talk with a qualified professional. You can also estimate costs with the calculator before speaking with anyone.

Your next step

Tell us a little about the situation, and a licensed Illinois home care provider can follow up with you.
